This week we’re joined by author and cognitive ethologist Marc Bekoff, whose new book, Wild Justice: The Moral Lives of Animals, co-authored with Jessica Pierce, examines the emotion and moral intelligence of animals. We talk to Bekoff about his research, specifically events he has personally witnessed in his the field which suggests that non-human animals have systems of morality, often examined through play interactions. Bekoff shares his views on animal subjectivity, emotionality and laboratory testing.
