Unmasking Repression: An Interview with “Green is the New Red” author Will Potter

The Animal Voices team is offering up a jam packed show this week! First, we’re joined by Dylan Powell from Marineland Animal Defense (MAD) to discuss breaking news that Seaworld has won a lawsuit against Marineland over the custody and care of Ikaika, an 8 year old Orka. Read the story here. Stay tuned for an in-depth interview with MAD next week!

We are also joined by award winning independent journalist and public speaker, Will Potter. Will is the author of Green is the New Red: An Insider’s Account of a Social Movement Under Siege, which details the US government’s repression of environmental and animal activism through terrorism legislation. The book follows the creation and evolution of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA) and its landmark application in the Stop Huntington Animal Cruelty – SHAC7 case. Potter also gives an insider’s look at the SHAC7 defendants – including recent guest, Josh Harper. A must read for all animal rights and environmental advocates!
